Midwest Floods, California Fires, High Food Prices, Soaring Gasoline Costs, Falling Home Values & Endless Wars - What In The World Is Going On?

Another day and another set of bad news.

Yesterday lightning sparked as many as 400 fires in California:

What was it before that? There have been so much bad news this year.

Midwest floods?

A record setting tornado outburst?

Food prices going through the roof?

Gasoline hitting ridiculous price levels?

Food riots igniting around the world?

The crash of the housing market?

Endless wars in Afghanistan and Iraq that are claiming lives on both sides and sucking the finances of our nation dry?

What in the world is going on?

An ABC News-Washington Post survey found that only 14 percent of Americans believe that the nation is headed in the right direction, tying the record low.

So what is the right direction?

Unfortunately, the vast majority of Americans have no idea what the right direction is anymore.

Over the next few months we will hear endless opinions about what we should do.

But what you will not hear from any of these talking heads on the television is the real answer.

The real answer is that we need to repent and turn back to the Lord God Almighty.

Some real wisdom for our nation is found in II Chronicles 7:14 -

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

As long as we continue to pile up mountains of sin and refuse to turn to the Lord we will continue to experience an increasing level of judgment from God.

Let us pray that the people of this nation can see the truth before it is too late.
