Last night Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama held a secret meeting in the Washington D.C. area which was unknown to the media.
It is being speculated by the media that they discussed the future of the Democratic party and what Hillary's role will be in Obama's campaign.
Senator Charles Schumer said Friday that Clinton would be willing to accept the number two spot on the ticket if she is asked.
"She has said if Senator Obama should want her to be vice president and thinks it would be best for the ticket, she will serve, she will accept that. But on the other hand, if he chooses someone else she will work just as hard for the party in November," Schumer said on ABC's Good Morning America this morning.
Is it a coincidence that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama met in the D.C. area on the same night when the Bilderberg Conference is opening?
The 56th Bilderberg Meeting is being held in Chantilly, Virginia June 5-8, 2008.
The liberal blog Wonkette seems to think that the meeting was definitely held at Bilderberg:
"Guess who had a very private talky-talk in (maybe) romantic Northern Virginia tonight, probably at the Bilderberg Group meeting in Chantilly? Your Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton!"
"They really met and talked, in private, Thursday night. And really, it sounds like they did this at that creepy Bilderberg Group meeting, which is happening now, and which is so secret that nobody will admit they’re going, even though everybody who is anybody goes to Bilderberg."
The following is language from a press release from the Bilderbergers about their conference:
"The Conference will deal mainly with a nuclear free world, cyber terrorism, Africa, Russia, finance, protectionism, US-EU relations, Afghanistan and Pakistan, Islam and Iran. Approximately 140 participants will attend, of whom about two-thirds come from Europe and the balance from North America. About one-third is from government and politics, and two-thirds are from finance, industry, labor, education and communications. The meeting is private in order to encourage frank and open discussion."
Nobody has confirmed where Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama met, but it does seem strange that they would meet in the D.C. area on the exact same night when the Bilderberg conference is beginning.
Below is a portion of the source article from Reuters:
Likely U.S. Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama met privately with former rival Hillary Clinton on Thursday night, an Obama campaign spokesman said.
"They did meet tonight," Robert Gibbs, Obama's communications director, told reporters in response to media reports about the session.
Gibbs said reports they met at Clinton's home in Washington were incorrect. He declined to disclose the location or details of what they discussed.
He spoke on the Obama campaign plane traveling to Chicago. Obama had been scheduled to fly back to that city on Thursday evening after a rally in northern Virginia but stayed behind for the meeting with Clinton, shedding his campaign plane and the traveling press corps.
