Did you know that there are dozens of prophecies about Jesus in the Old Testament?
Most Americans do not understand that Jesus fulfilled some incredibly amazing prophecies when He came to this earth. And even most Christians do not understand that these fulfilled prophecies are very powerful evidence for the Christian faith, and should regularly be used in evangelism and in destroying the arguments of skeptics.
Did you even know that even Jesus used these prophecies to tell other people the good news?
Luke 24:27-
And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.
Luke 24:44-
He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms."
John 5:46-
"If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me."
In the same way, the early disciples of Christ also used these prophecies to persuade people that Jesus was indeed the Messiah.
Acts 3:18-
But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Christ would suffer.
Acts 17:2-3-
As his custom was, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and proving that the Christ had to suffer and rise from the dead. "This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Christ" he said.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4-
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures
If you do not know about these amazing prophecies, I would encourage you to learn. The following link is to a great site that lists 45 of these prophecies:

these prophecies are excerpts from the Old Testament about the coming of Christ
ReplyDeleteI don't understand how this "destroys the arguments of skeptics" if you are using the subject matter in question as evidence for itself??
ie: unicorns exist because they have horns, and unicorns do have horns so they must exist
this is why atheism is growing, it's because Christians are so uneducated (ie: the writer of this article) that they try to argue with faulty logic.
There are many logical formulations which leave room for Christianity. This article does not use any of them.
Great. Another numbskull who thinks he has debunked a valid argument. (I refer to the previous poster) Your unicorn argument has absolutely no validity seeing as there is no evidence nor any record mentioning the existence of unicorns in the mythological creature sense. There is, however, evidence of Old Testament prophesy written long before the time of Jesus Christ and it's written record is made freely available to the public. To think even for a second that your unicorn argument holds any water at all shows that either you are of flawed logic, or you are blatantly creating misinformation to try and keep the truth from spreading; perhaps there is a personal vendetta keeping you from acknowledging any truth you may find?
