The Daily Buzz - Jobless Claims In The U.S. Hit A 7 Year High

-Jobless claims in the U.S. have jumped to a 7 year high, signaling a rapid deterioration in the labor market.

-Oil prices plunged to $50 a barrel on gathering concerns regarding the global economic slowdown and the perilous state of the U.S. auto industry.

-Ted Haggard has spoken out publicly about his sex scandal for the first time. Apparently he claims that he was abused as a child.

-A new study had found that obese kids have arteries that are similar to 45 year old adults.

-Another new study suggests that chemotherapy does more harm than good.

-Baron David de Rothschild sees a New World Order emerging that will be largely controlled by a global banking structure. Isn't that lovely?

-The Democratic proposal for an auto industry bailout includes the federal government getting a stake in the car companies. Socialism here we come!

-The hedge fund industry is coming apart like a 20 dollar suit.

-Not just 700 billion - according to CreditSights, a research firm in New York and London, the U.S. government has put itself on the hook for about 5 trillion dollars, so far, in an attempt to avert the collapse of the financial system.

-Lastly, Uruguay’s Congress has approved a law which would overturn a 70 year old ban on abortion in that country.
