Halloween Has Become The Sexiest Holiday Of The Year

When I was young, Halloween was about dressing up like a ghost or a superhero and going out and gathering candy around the neighborhood. But that is so 1980. Now Halloween has become a sexy "adult" holiday featuring nurses in skimpy outfits, "sexy" witches and hordes of young women dressed up to look like Sarah Palin in lingerie.

The truth about this trend was very eloquently summed up by Linsay Lohan in the movie Mean Girls when she uttered these words:

"Halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it."

The truth is that Halloween has become the most sexual of all of the holidays. Anyone who has been to a Halloween party in the past couple of years knows just how true this is.

The following is how Mike Baker describes one Halloween party he recently attended:

"By way of example...one woman propped up at the bar near the pickled egg jar wasn’t dressed up as a police officer, she was a “sexy” policewoman. There were two women dressed as “sexy” witches, three dressed as “sexy” pirates, one in a “sexy” maid outfit and several sporting the very popular “sexy” Gov. Palin garb. There were even four women in one group dressed as prostitutes."

But it isn't just adults doing this now. The L.A. Times is reporting on the very disturbing trend of little girls starting to dress like this for Halloween:

"Halloween costumes for 7- and 8-year-old girls and even younger have become downright titillating, and for tweens and teens, the vast majority of those sold in stores and on the Internet are unabashedly sexually alluring."

But perhaps we should not be shocked that this type of behavior is linked to a holiday that has a long history of wild debauchery.

Do you know where the word "Halloween" originally came from?

Do you know that a holiday named "Samhain" was celebrated on October 31st for centuries before the word "Halloween" was even invented?

Do you know that "Samhain" is still celebrated by huge numbers of people today?

Do you know that many of the "Halloween traditions" of today can be traced directly back to the pagan practices of ancient peoples?

The video posted below explores the history of Halloween, and what it reveals may shock and surprise you:
