Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a society where the "secret police" spy on everyone? If you live in the United Kingdom you do not have to wonder anymore.A "secret police intelligence unit" has been established in the U.K. and it is now "spying" on both left wing and right wing political organizations.
Seriously.
Who ever thought we would see the day when western democracies would begin deploying "secret police"?
Have we not learned anything from history?
Apparently not.
The U.K. government embraces new "big brother" measures seemingly by the day.
For example, it has been reported that a "big brother" database is now being built by the U.K. government that will store details about millions of people who travel into and out of the U.K. for up to ten years.
Reportedly, this system will record the names of every single traveler and the dates of every movement in and out of the U.K. by air, rail or sea.
Not that the United States is much better.....
Now the NSA is creating an artificial intelligence system called "Aquaint" that will literally pull information from your phone calls, credit card receipts, social networks such as Facebook and MySpace, GPS devices, cell phones, Google searches, Amazon book purchases and even E-Z Pass toll records to give users of the system information on where you are, what you are doing and what you are thinking.
There is nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.
The truth is that "big brother" will not be here someday.
"Big brother" is here today and it is watching you right now.
The time of the "open society" is now over.
The time of 'open society' never really began.
